As just the latest way for builders to craft their own characters, the new online LEGO Minifigure Factory experience is finally here. The Insectoids are just humanoid aliens who have disguised their ships as bugs to blend in on an alien world. The characters themselves are not bug-like at all and putting their logo or something on an actual bug would just be a cheap reference for the sake of a reference. The Galaxy Squad angle is much more appropriate for that figure.

The printed bolts are welcome and continue onto the arms and the head, with the latter encased in a spherical trans-bright green helmet. This component distorts the head underneath, giving the Robot Butler a completely unique appearance. By contrast, the Flying Saucer Costume Fan lacks any accessories, but his unique headgear more than makes up for that. A neck attachment is ingeniously used as the actual flying saucer, with a trans-clear 2x2x2 dome on top, so the minifigure's head forms the alien riding inside!

Like the Imposter, I think this is a fantastic idea for a figure and the execution has proven equally impressive. As his name suggests, this character specialises in lifting heavy objects, alluding to the many magnetic cranes found in M-Tron sets. He therefore wears a large backpack with an attached claw, linked by a new flexible cable. This component seems relatively specialised, but could be ideal for adding mechanical detail and it looks fantastic with this minifigure. Of course, this series also presents homages to some notable Space subthemes from LEGO history, continuing a trend across various recent series of Collectable Minifigures. M-Tron, Ice Planet 2002 and Blacktron II are all represented, alongside a selection of original characters and those inspired by space archetypes.
The variety of new printed elements used here is admirable, although there are clearly more innovative characters in this series, as comparable astronauts have appeared before. In the tool, you’ll be able to select different heads, headwear, torsos, legs, and accessories for your custom Minifig. For the torso, you can go really deep on customization by applying decals and custom text. (Lego will be moderating the designs to prevent users from making inappropriate Minifigs, according to Jay’s Brick Blog.) There are some fun accessories you can pick from, too, like a laptop, a pretzel, and a pizza. Completed Minifigs will cost $11.99, though you can only buy one per household.

I would like a classic spaceman in a new colour , but overall , this is one of my favorite cmf series . I think the modern incarnations of astronauts from older Space subthemes are realised well and those will doubtless be highlights for many fans. However, I am also very satisfied with the less obvious concepts, such as the Imposter and the Flying Saucer Costume Fan. In fact, there are no major weaknesses to the series, in my opinion, even though some characters are inevitable standouts.

When we first heard about this series all those months ago I was rather looking forward to it. It would be the first non-licensed series I'd bought the complete set of. Unfortunately, when we saw the first leaked images it was not what I was expecting.
Today’s rollout of the Minifigure Factory site also complements the other customization experience we saw earlier in the year from the LEGO Group. Back in April the popular in-store Build a Minifigure service launched as a beta, and is now joined by today’s addition for another way to craft some custom figs. Pricing is something that is unlikely to change once it hits the final release, with each LEGO Minifigure Factory custom figure going for $11.99.
Reimagining the constellation in minifigure form is another inventive concept and has enabled the graphic designers to make maximum use of trans-purple glitter pieces for the head, arms and legs. Turning the head around reveals a diminutive alien inside, piloting the minifigure like a mech! Two more aliens are supplied as well, each featuring one eye and represented by lime green nanofigures. These printed nanofigures are exactly the same size as the printed alien, so you can imagine them clambering into the mech to join their colleague. LEGO has produced a number of modern astronaut minifigures, including a prior Collectable Minifigure from series fifteen. The new Spacewalking Astronaut matches its surface-bound precursor, so the torso decoration is similar, with a little Classic Space emblem and relatively realistic detail on the chest pack.
The only disappointment I have is the lack of a trans-lime green visor, but the printed heads-up display is a good compromise, as trans-lime green has been retired. Space-themed Collectable Minifigures offer a perfect opportunity to revisit some older Space subthemes and the M-Tron Powerlifter represents one of the most memorable such ranges. Despite comprising only nine sets over two years, M-Tron is beloved for its distinctive colour scheme and use of magnets, which had been limited to trains before 1990. Additionally, the teal fedora looks excellent, returning from the Film Noir Detective, but making its first appearance in this colour. The alien's large eyes are perfect too, inspired by the classic Grey often featured in science fiction and already portrayed as a minifigure in the sixth series of Collectable Minifigures, over a decade ago. I hope this piece sees continued use in future Space sets because it looks excellent, without being needlessly specialised.
This design works incredibly well and the metallic silver saucer element features great texture on its underside. I was thinking skip these minifigures although I am a great fan of space theme. Only one kneepad is needed, as the minifigure's other leg has transformed into an alien claw, using the same piece as the Beetlezoid above. Moreover, this figure features two arms on the right side, while a section of the face has mutated as well. The result looks brilliantly gruesome, although you cannot easily revert the minifigure to a conventional Blacktron II astronaut. Orion is one of the most recognisable constellations in the Northern Hemisphere sky, named after the Greek mythological figure.

I was able to get the codes to scan, but there was no database connected to them. I used a text list of the codes to cherry pick what should be every human suit, alien tourist, UFO, and Space Baby, plus some of the bugs and Orions. This is the first time I can recall having found so many before seeing a review posted. Despite its enormous potential, I was sceptical when rumours of Collectable Minifigures Series 26 - Space began to circulate. After all, there have already been various space-oriented Collectable Minifigures, so I questioned whether a dedicated series was necessary. Fortunately, the designers have come up with some exceptional ideas, so the range feels innovative.
The corrugated shape gives the impression of flexibility and I like the cylindrical wheels on the feet, even though they are static.
